Distribution Program Coordinator

Agency: The Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI) is a not-for-profit state program responsible for providing telecommunications devices and services to eligible Floridians with hearing loss. FTRI has an internal staff of eight employees and collaborates with 20 regional distribution centers in providing services to this population.

Job Title: Distribution Program Coordinator (DPC)

Job Description: Receives, verifies, and processes application packets for equipment and services from contracted Regional Distribution Centers (RDCs), performs equipment reconciliations for assigned RDCs, manages and processes assigned application requests (AR) via online, maintain equipment inventory room and performs shipping, answers incoming calls for main line and customer care, assist with serving walk-in clients. Responsibilities include troubleshooting assistance, extra training, or assistance with modifying clients existing device over the phone. Also, receives, ships and test equipment for repair or disposes of damaged and out-of-warranty equipment, in accordance with discard procedures. In addition, reviews vendor monthly product availability against RDCs’ repair/recycle/discard report. Verifies certifier credentials through the state licensure database, Contacts certifier to verify consumer qualifications for the specialized equipment.

Skills and Experience: General knowledge of the Telecommunications Access System Act (TASA) and practical knowledge of telecommunications equipment and services and FTRI policies and procedures. Ability to follow instructions; to recommend telecommunications equipment and/or services appropriate to the consumer’s needs; to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, applications, memos, agency policies, and procedure manuals, to write routine reports, memos and correspondence; to communicate effectively orally or visually and in writing with co-workers, consumers, applicants, RDC representatives, certifiers, and the general public, typically on a one-on-one basis; to tabulate, record, and compile data on inventory equipment; to demonstrate proficiency in word processing, database, spreadsheet, and network software applications; to organize own work priorities, work independently, and accurately perform duties with minimal supervision; to get along with and assist co-workers; to accept overtime or flexible schedule; and to travel as needed.

Qualifications: High school degree or GED plus 2 years of related customer service or data entry experience/and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience. Valid State Driver’s License. Proficiency in American Sign language is helpful.

Starting Pay Range: $32,412 to $42,136
